Thailand King Dies at Age 88
WorldPath Health mourns the loss of the revered King of Thailand, King Bhumibol Adulyadej who died on October 13, 2016. The King was born at WorldPath affiliate Mount Auburn Hospital on December 5, 1927. He was the longest reigning monarch born on American soil having reigned in Thailand for 70 years.
In 1927, Prince Mahidol Adulyadej of Songkla came to study Public Health at Harvard University with his wife Princess Srinagarindra who studied chemistry and nutrition at Simmons College. On December 5 she gave birth to the King at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge.

The King died peacefully at the age of 88.
