NEW STUDY SHOWS SCREENING COLONOSCOPY BENEFICIAL IN ELDERLY
There has been much speculation in recent years concerning the benefit of screening colonoscopy in the elderly.
A large US population-based study recently found that screening colonoscopy had a modest benefit in preventing colorectal cancer (CRC) in individuals 70-74 years of age and a smaller benefit for those 75-79 years old. The risk of adverse event rand compilation was low in both age groups.
