ONE THIRD OF ALL CANCERS LINKED TO TOBACCO USE
According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, approximately a third of cancer deaths in American men and a quarter in women 35 years and older are linked to cigarette smoking. The study indicated more than 167,000 cancer deaths in the U.S. alone in 2014 – almost 29 percent – were attributable to cigarette smoking. One of the most important things anyone can do to help prevent developing cancer is stop smoking.
WorldPath Health is actively involved in the battle against tobacco use and smoking cessation programs are available to all WorldPath patients and their families. In addition, cancer screening tests using minimally invasive techniques and the most advanced technology are available as part of the WorldPath Executive Health Program.
WorldPath recommends immediate cessation of smoking and appropriate cancer screening to help prevent and detect cancer.
